The Link Sucks Customer Reviews and Feedback

From Everything.Sucks

The Link was an internet based mobile phone and communications retailer in the United Kingdom. It was owned by Dixons Retail (known currently as Dixons Carphone, formerly DSG International), the United Kingdom's largest consumer electronics retail group, and traded online through a dedicated retail website, which in addition to mobile phones also offered satellite navigation systems and broadband internet services. The brand was previously used for a chain of mobile phone retail stores, which were 60% owned by DSGi, and 40% owned by O2, the telecommunications company. At the time of The Link's retail store operation, O2 was a subsidiary of BT Group, but the network is now owned by Telefónica of Spain.

Former Employee - Sales Representative says

"Long distance to travel."

"Employees aren't treated great, pay is low"

Current Employee - Anonymous Employee says

"there was little support from supervisors"

Intake Specialist (Former Employee) says

"This was a great company until it changed directors in January. Management and staff slowly began to leave. Current management/director is not supportive, there seems to always be a battle between management and intake specialist. There is no opportunity to grow as director prefers to hire externally regardless of how the time you have invested with the company. The training is not structure, its mostly learn as you go.Constantly HIGH turnover"

Housing Staff (Former Employee) says

"I worked for the Link for almost 6 years. I had seen high staff turnover. There usually no support from higher up management. Supervision was useless because my director has had no work experience and education, and yet they kept promoting the director. No support from manager. Great co-workers, great clients.variety of jobs, lots of open positionhigh staff turnover, burnout, unprofessional management."

Sales Assistant (Former Employee) says

"Store has since ceased trading pointless pointless wasting my time only wanted to upload a cv cant skip past this blah blah blah feel conned by your site"

Peer Support Worker (Former Employee) says

"good to work with residents and feel like I was making a difference. New facility so many changes were taking place. Hours varied depending on need of the staff.working with residentsnew facility still working on programming"

Youth Specialist (Former Employee) says

"The Link provides very important programs for youth and generally does a great job giving youth in need the stability they have often lacked. This agency will continue to grow and be a leader for the population it serves I have no doubt. I think some of their problems are typical of organizations that are similar: strong administrative staff, dedicated direct care staff (for the most part) but some really poor program management practices in some but not all of the programs they run as some programs have no direction and very hands off leadership, which leaves a lot of staff unsure about their roles. some programs that need strong leadership and consistent programming and structure just continue to have none. long term housing programs are the most stable programs they offer for both youth and staff.Longevity of agency, independence, nice clean facilities, great and caring administrative leadershipBad program management, lack of direction, inconsistent enforcement of program rules and protocol in some programs"

Client Engagement Committee Board Member (Current Employee) says

"This company really allowed me to blossom into the leader I am today. I know for a fact that one specific manager really put me in positions to win. I want to thank the company for hiring him."

Youth services/Office Admin (Former Employee) says

"I learned how to work with youth with psychological issues and how prepare them for functioning well in "society." Co-worker were great. we functioned as a team. Job was fairly easy. I enjoyed the working with the youth the most."

Peer Support Specialist (Former Employee) says

"Working at a residential treatment facility. You have to be flexible so that you work a mix of days and evenings for the clients that have day shift and night shift jobs. Helping men find sobriety and to transition back to living life without substances"

Volunteer/Intern Coordinator (Former Employee) says

"The Link provides housing and preventative services and programs to youth and young adults in who are homeless, in the criminal justice system or victims of trafficking and exploitation.youth and volunteersmanagement"

Coaching Coordinator (Current Employee) says

"Assessing clients by referral of director, learn management skills of others, learn to create a training manual, very diverse of clients and coworkers, work at your own pace, pleasant atmosphere, learning / trainingset hours no matter how many hours worked, no benefits"
